USA World Cup Rugby betting preview

RWC'19 USA Betting preview and free predictions - Rugby World Cup

USA are rated 2000-1 outsiders of winning the Rugby World Cup in Japan, while they are a healthy 500-1 just to win Pool C, in which they sit alongside rugby powers England, France and Argentina, plus old foes Tonga.

The good news for the Eagles is they boast a win against Tonga and also a win against France. The bad news is that the win against the latter came almost 100 years ago!

Our betting prediction is the USA’s best and most likely only chance of a win at this World Cup will come against the powerful Tongans, with the loser likely to leave Japan winless.

WGL prediction: Eliminated in group stage. The Eagles have ended up in a strong group here and realistically they have little chance against England, Argentina and France. Their best hope of cracking a rare World Cup win is in their final match against Tonga and even that will be tough.

Leading try-scorer prediction for USA

Joe Taufete’e: We will look outside the square here and go for 121-kilo hooker Taufete’e. While it’s usually the fast and elusive outside backs who take all the glory this American Samoa-born player has a tremendous knack for scoring tries, with 20 in only 22 matches for his national team.

USA RWC’19 predictions – can the Eagles soar?

Not this time around, though they are improving all the time and pushed Scotland all the way in a 30-29 loss last year. A great result would be avoiding thrashings in their first three matches and then beating Tonga to round out the campaign.
