West Coast v Carlton round 11 preview

Welcome to our West Coast v Carlton betting tips, prediction and odds analysis ahead of their round 11 AFL clash at Optus Stadium, Perth, on Sunday afternoon.

A month ago the Eagles were in a world of pain but since they have returned to WA they look a different side and have stormed up the ladder to be in the box seat to finish top four.

The Eagles have won their past five matches with ease and have also won their past five against Sunday’s opponent Carlton.

The Blues have shown good form at times this season, but were easily brushed side last week against Carlton and it won’t get any easier against the Eagles on their home turf.

The Eagles are second favourites to win the 2020 flag behind Richmond, and may regain stars Jeremy McGovern (thumb), Liam Ryan (hamstring) and Jack Redden (quad) for the clash with Carlton.

The Blues should regain a McGovern of their own, with younger brother Mitch ready to resume after a hamstring problem, though they have lost promising David Cuningham to a calf injury.

West Coast v Carlton tips

Our AFL betting expert has scoured the odds and found several value Eagles v Blues predictions for Sunday’s game.

West Coast -19.5 points, match total over 102.5 points

If the Eagles are up and going they will blow past the Blues by plenty and the match total should not be a problem either. The weather forecast is not good but the Eagles midfield being fed the ball by Nic Naitainui can be a thing of beauty. Also helps that they have rabid fans fans cheering them on.

Tim Kelly to get 25+ possessions

The Eagles midfielder is really starting to find his feet at his new club and he is a mudlark. We have watched in awe as he has handled the slippery ball in wet matches in Geelong with ease. You will have to check the odds at PlayUp on match day to bet on this one but we would expect around $3.50.

West Coast Eagles v Carlton Blues prediction 9/8/2020

While we’d like to see a close match, and the Blues will be more settled in the West Australian hub than in their previous match against Hawthorn, the Eagles simply look a class above at this stage. It will another step in a long learning process for the Blues, but they dipped in form last week and the Eagles are at their best. Our final West Coast-Carlton prediction: Eagles to win by 40 points.
