Western Bulldogs v Adelaide Crows betting tips, prediction and odds; AFL Rd 12 preview 2020

Updated Sunday 12:30: Welcome to our Western Bulldogs v Adelaide betting tips, prediction and odds update for their AFL Round 12 clash at Metricon Stadium on Sunday.

The Bulldogs v Adelaide betting has not been shaken up despite both teams recalling some big names, including Lachie Hunter and Rory Sloane.

The Bulldogs are just four points outside the top eight and are yet to find their top form with the winless Crows coming at just the right time for Luke Beveridge’s charges, after three successive losses to Richmond, Port Adelaide and Brisbane.

Adelaide have been horrible in 2020 under new coach Matthew Nicks, but last round they were competitive for a half against Collingwood before their customary second-half fadeout.

The Western Bulldogs won the last encounter between the two clubs in round 23 last year, when Bailey Dale kicked 5.3 for the Dogs, and Taylor Walker kicked five straight for the Crows.

The Bulldogs v Adelaide betting has remained steady in the lead-up to the clash, with very little money flowing in for The Crows. Adelaide is priced at $5.75 to defeat the Bulldogs ($1.13).

With little value in the head to head betting punters can look to the $1.90 line which has been set at 34.5 points by Unibet. Unibet has a cool feature on this game, where you can choose your own line, with your selection reflected in the odds.

The Bulldogs have been forced to leave Jason Johannisen out of the clash with the 27-year-old hurting an ankle at training during the week. They have also managed key forward Josh Bruce and Laitham Vandermeer, while key defender Zaine Cordy is out injured.

The Bulldogs have included Lachie Hunter after a leave of absence to deal with personal issues, while Ben Cavarra, Rhylee West and Roarke Smith

The Crows have received a major boost for the clash with Rory Sloane returning from injury. He will be joined by Daniel Talia, Jake Kelly, Lachlan Murphy and Myles Poholke.

Adelaide has lost defender Tom Doedee and Tom Lynch with both injuring hamstrings against Collingwood. Ben Crocker (Illness) and Ned McHenry (managed) are both out through injury, while young forward Darcy Fogarty has been dropped after having very little impact in recent weeks.

They will also again be without the services of Brad Crouch who is overcoming his own hamstring complaint.

Bulldogs v Adelaide tips

Our AFL betting expert has scoured the odds and found several value Bulldogs v Adelaide betting tips for Sunday’s game.

First goal scorer market – Bailey Dale

While we are usually reluctant to bet on the first goal-scorer market, sometimes we receive a small nod from the football Gods and we’re feeling good about Bailey Dale kicking the first goal in this contest. He did kick 5.3 last outing against the Crows. Unibet has some great specials surrounding first goal scorer betting at the moment that are worth checking out.

Josh Dunkley to get 25+ touches

Western Bulldogs ball magnet Josh Dunkley has had 18 and 19 touches in his first two games back from an injury layoff. In recent weeks the Crows have been horrible at containing opposition midfielders and we think this could see us cash in with Dunkley here. It’s worth noting he had 34 touches last time against the Crows albeit in a game with longer quarters. Star Crow Matt Crouch had 47 touches last outing against the Dogs, while Jack Macrae and Rory Sloane were also prolific in this match.

Over/Unders

The over/under market has been set reasonably high for the Bulldogs-Crows game but the weather is expected to be fine. Unibet’s mark of 127.5 is worth considering for your multibets, with our tip being to take the unders.

Western Bulldogs v Adelaide Crows prediction 16/8/2020

The Western Bulldogs need a win here and the struggling Crows are the perfect victim. And while we don’t think the Western Bulldogs will blow them away, they will do enough to notch up a victory. We don’t mind the Crows +34.5 in line betting with their effort against Collingwood strong for the most part. Other than that, look to the player markets in this contest. Our final Bulldogs v Adelaide Crows prediction? Bulldogs by 25 points.
