Fremantle v Sydney betting tips, prediction & odds; AFL round 10 preview 2021

Dockers v Swans tips and betting prediction; May 22 2021 Preview

Welcome to our Fremantle v Sydney tips, prediction and odds analysis ahead of their AFL round 10 clash at Optus Stadium on Saturday night.

In what looms as the match-of-the-day, with several ordinary games on the cards, the 10th placed Dockers will continue to push their case for a top eight position, while the Swans can consolidate their position in the top six.

The Dockers last played on Sunday when they lost to Essendon by seven points after a disastrous display in front of goal. The Swans accounted for Collingwood the day before by five goals, giving them an extra 24 hours rest.

Fremantle has been priced at $2.01 to win this clash, with the Swans the bookies elect at $1.83. The line has been set at 2.5 with TopSport, which is far too narrow for our tastes.

The Dockers have been dealt a major blow with young gun Andrew Brayshaw out with a calf, while Reece Conca and Taylin Duman have been dropped. Important defender Luke Ryan and young forward Josh Treacy have been included.

Sydney has included their first round draft pick Dylan Stephens for his first game since round 6, with James Bell and Justin McInerney both dropped. The AFL world is also on Lance Franklin watch, with social media speculating he may not make the trip west.

Fremantle v Sydney betting tips

Our AFL betting expert has examined the odds and found some value Fremantle v Sydney betting tips:

Matt Taberner to kick 3+ goals

Dockers forward Matt Taberner has become a bit of a favourite of the WGL tipsters, largely because he is so consistent. You can almost always mark him down for a couple of goals. Against a Swans’ backline that is undersized, we can see Taberner enjoying a strong day. He is paying $2.20 to kick 3+ goals.

Callum Mills to have 25+ touches

Sydney has reinvented Callum Mills int almost the reverse Dustin Martin, after being switched to the midfield from defence. But in a break glass situation Mills is switched back. The Dockers don’t have a logical match-up forward for Mills, so we suspect the former Swans Academy prospect will spend the bulk of the days around the centre square.

Fremantle v Sydney prediction 22/5

Fremantle looks a bit thin through the midfield for this clash without young Brayshaw and we think Nat Fyfe will have to play a blinder for them to win. The Swans just have more depth in this area, with several of their flankers more suited to being in the midfield rotation. While we don’t think they will blow the Dockers away, they should have too many tricks for Justin Longmuir’s rebuilding team. Rather than betting on a winner, consider the tri-bet markets, which allow you to pick a margin and either team to win. Our final Fremantle v Sydney prediction? Swans by eight points.
