Italy v Canada, England v USA betting tips, odds, predictions – Rugby World Cup 2019 match-day 7

Betting on England at the Rugby World Cup 2019

Welcome to our Rugby World Cup 2019 betting previews for Thursday, September 26, with two matches scheduled for the day, including the second outing for heavyweights England.
Both the matches appear at first glance to be one-sided, although we think there are good opportunities for punters to find a little value and turn a profit on the day.
Italy are playing off just a four-day break against Pool B rivals Canada, who are playing their first match of the tournament. Azzurri coach Conor O’Shea has made 10 changes to his starting line-up, highlighting the faith he has in his overall squad. They need to win this one to maintain any hope of advancing to the next stage.
USA also are making their first appearance in Japan in their Pool C match against hot favourites England. We think they are in for a grilling from the deep England line-up, who boast so much firepower.

Check out our team previews to get the latest form, our tips for leading try-scorer from each team and where we think they will finish in the tournament.

Previous World Cup 2019 matches:
Italy: Italy 47 (Penalty try; Tommaso Allan, Carlo Canna, Matteo Minozzi, Edoardo Padovani, Jake Polledri, Tito Tebaldi tries; Allan 3, Canna 2 cons) d Namibia 22 (JC Greyling, Chad Plato, Damian Stevens tries; Cliven Loubser 2 cons, pen). Referee: Nic Berry.
Canada: First match

Head to head odds: Italy $1.06, Canada $9
Handicap line odds: Italy (-19.5 points) $1.91, Canada (+19.5 points) $1.91
Italy v Canada prediction: Les Rouges have lost their past six clashes against the Italians, but interestingly four of those losses have been by a single-figure margin. The Canadians are a tough outfit and we think this fact combined with the chopping and changing for Italy means they will be in the match at least until half-time. Canada’s veteran winger D.T.H. Van der Merwe is attempting to score for a fifth World Cup match in succession after he score in every match of Canada’s 2015 campaign. The Italian defence was a little shaky in their opener.

Best bets for Italy v Canada RWC2019 match

Canada +19.5 points at $1.91

They will be fresh and keen and we don’t like the fact Italy have left out do many players from the starting line-up including captain Sergio Parisse. The Italians should win this match but the past two World Cup clashes between the teams have been decided by just five points. We think the 19.5-point buffer for the Canadians represents decent value.

Matteo Minozzi anytime try-scorer at $2.10

The Italian fullback is a classy type and got on the board in the first game. We think he can find another five-pointer in this clash.

Match 12: Pool C – England v United States

Kick-off: 7.45pm local time (GMT +9)
Venue: Kobe Misaki Stadium
Previous World Cup 2019 matches:
England: England 35 (Manu Tuilagi 2, Luke Cowan-Dickie, Jamie George tries; Owen Farrell 3 cons, 3 pens) d Tonga 3 (Sonatane Takulua pen). Referee: Paul Williams.
USA: First match

Head to head odds: England $1, United States $26
Handicap line odds: England (-33.5 points) $1.91, United States (+33.5 points) $1.91
England v United States prediction: England have blown out the cobwebs with their scrappy display against Tonga and should have plenty up their sleeve against the USA here. The best hope of the Americans notching up a win will come later in the tournament which is not to say they won’t throw everything into this clash. England coach Eddie Jones has swung a few changes and the replacements will be ultra keen to impress to try to shore up a spot for later in the tournament. The weather forecast is perfect.

Best bets for England v United States RWC2019 match

England to win by more than 33.5 points

England will want to execute a lot better than they did against Tonga to cover this line but there is no reason they can’t. They showed in a few of the lead-up match when they get on a roll they can score quickly.

Jonathan Joseph score a try and England to win

This option is only around the $1.70 mark with most bookies but little fish are sweet. Joseph is a real flyer; we expect a high-scoring match so every chance Joseph gets on the end of a back-line movement or two.
