North Melbourne v Fremantle betting tips, prediction and odds; AFL round 17 preview 2020

Welcome to our North Melbourne v Fremantle betting tips, prediction and odds udpate ahead of their AFL round 17 clash at Metricon Stadium on Saturday.

Both of these teams are out of finals contention in 2020, but with just two games left in the shortened season, it could be their last opportunity for a win with tough games in the final round scheduled.

North Melbourne are coming off a 36-point loss to Port Adelaide on Saturday, but they were not disgraced, with a six goal to two third quarter the difference between the two teams.

Fremantle won their last game by 14 points against Melbourne on Monday night, which means they will have had two less days of rest than their opponents for this game.

The Dockers have been installed a $1.50 favourite in the betting to win this match, while the Roos ($2.60) are not receiving much love from punters. The $1.90 line has been set at 10.5.

The Roos have received a huge boost with Aiden Bonar returning from injury, while injury-plagued tall Taylor Garner will play his first senior game in more than a year. They have dropped Lachie Hosie and Marley Williams.

Fremantle have made just one change with Tobe Watson replacing the injured Reece Conca.

North Melbourne v Fremantle tips

Our AFL betting expert has scoured the odds and found several value Roos v Dockers tips for Saturday’s game.

Luke Davies-Uniacke to get 20 touches or more

North Melbourne would be rapt with the development of Luke Davies-Uniacke, with the young midfielder improving greatly this season. Davies Uniacke has been solid when not injured in 2020 without a real breakout game, but we think this might change coming up against the young Dockers. He is paying a juicy $3.60 to gather over 25 touches or $2.20 for 20 at PlayUp.

Fremantle to cover the 10.5-point line

The Dockers have more fit players than their opponents heading into this game. We think their forward line is functioning better and their midfield led by Nat Fyfe and their young guns Adam Cerra and Andrew Brayshaw is beginning to look dangerous. The 10.5-point line, despite their low-scoring ways, looks OK for the Dockers to cover here at $1.90.

North Melbourne v Fremantle prediction 12/9/2020

While the North Melbourne v Fremantle clash has little impact on the overall season, there is plenty to be gained for both clubs. The Roos are injury-hit, rebuilding and clearly assessing a heap of mid-range players that may be traded or delisted at year’s end. You can guarantee the effort will be there, but we just don’t think they have the A-grade talent of the Dockers. Fremantle have surprised many under first-year coach Justin Longmuir and they should be able to notch up their seventh win for the year here. Our final North Melbourne v Fremantle prediction? Dockers by 13 points.
