AFL Saturday: West Coast v Collingwood betting tips

The Western Bulldogs are travelling much better than earlier in the season and won five of their last six games to move into seventh position. They are a settled unit, heading into this clash unchanged,

St Kilda’s form has been patchy, winning just two out of their last five games, but this did include a two-point loss to Brisbane, a 15-point loss to West Coast and a three-point loss to Melbourne. They will be boosted by speedy recruit Zak Jones, who has replaced the injured Josh Battle.

St Kilda v Western Bulldogs tips

Our AFL betting expert has scoured the odds and found several value Saints v Bulldogs tips for Saturday’s game.

Dan Butler to kick first goal

Not a market we often recommend, but sometimes you have just got to follow your gut. Dan Butler has been a revelation since crossing from Richmond and looms as a key to the Saints’ chances.

Caleb Daniel to get 20 touches or more

The skilful Dog Caleb Daniel is someone his team wants with the ball in a final. Expect plenty of congestion in a pressure-cooker game and we could see Daniel excel in these conditions. He is paying $1.72 to gather 20 touches.

Mitch Wallis to kick 2+ goals

Wallis has been a picture of consistency in a rather forlorn season for those of us  who bet on goal-scorers betting. Again in a finals game, there is every chance many of the goals will come from opportunistic moments, and there is few better than Wallis. He is paying $2 to kick 2+ goals.

Western Bulldogs by 24 points or less

We can’t see this Bulldogs v Saints final being a high-scoring affair, with it potentially played in tricky conditions at the Gabba. Keep an eye on the weather and consider taking the Dogs to win by 24 points or less and the unders, in the over/unders market which has been set at 123.5 at Unibet.

St Kilda v Western Bulldogs prediction 3/10/2020

The Western Bulldogs deserve to be favourites in the betting and look to shade their opponent through the middle of the ground, with more star power. We are discounting their clash earlier in the season, given the disjointed nature of the fixturing, and are willing to back the Bulldogs to cover the -3.5 points line at $1.90. Tim English looms as a key after he was done over by the Saints’ big men earlier in the year. Our Western Bulldogs v St Kilda prediction? Bulldogs by seven points.
