This match pits a serious premiership contender against a rebuilding outfit in the unusual location of Cairns. The Lions can stitch up their top-four position with a win here, while the Swans are limping towards the end of their year.
The Lions are playing off one day less rest than their opponents, with their last game a 45-point win over Gold Coast on Wednesday. The Swans last played on Tuesday and lost to Carlton by five points after leading most of the game.

Brisbane have not really convinced us of their premiership credentials and it doesn’t help that Harris Andrews may not play again this year. But they are playing a team that is rebuilding and has key players missing. We just can’t see the gallant Swans mounting a case to win this game and we’re confident that the Lions will lock in their top four position on Sunday. Our final Brisbane v Sydney prediction? Lions by 32 points.
