Welcome to our Port Adelaide v Collingwood betting tips, prediction and odds analysis ahead of their AFL round 19 clash at Marvel Stadium on Friday night.
The AFL fixture has been thrown into chaos with the latest round of lockdowns across Australia, with this game originally scheduled for the Adelaide Oval, before being switched to Melbourne behind closed doors.
Covid effectively gifting Collingwood a home game has seen the odds change significantly. After being as short as $1.10 when betting opened earlier this week, the Power are now out to $1.32; with Collingwood firming from around $4.50 into $3.41. The Power v Magpies line is set at 18.5 points.
NRL THURSDAY: PARRAMATTA V CANBERRA PREVIEW
The Power were impressive in dismissing St Kilda last start, and have won four out of their last five games, the one loss coming against Melbourne a fortnight ago. A Port Adelaide victory would see them remain in the top four and continue their push for a top two finish.
Collingwood lost to arch rival Carlton on Sunday, after dominating the opening half of play, before the Blues were gifted several momentum-changing goals that helped them keep their season alive. The Magpies would be pleased with the continued midfield time of Jordan De Goey and young forward Oliver Henry booting three goals in just his fifth game.
Port Adelaide is set to regain some talent with Connor Rozee (knee) and Zac Butters (knee) due to boost their line-up. Butters was expected to miss longer but has recovered quicker than expected, while Rozee missed just one match with soreness.
Collingwood will blood two more debutants with Irishman Anton Tohill and Jack Ginnivan given the green light at Magpies training on Wednesday. Callum Brown injured his shoulder against the Blues and will miss the remainder of the season, small forward Josh Thomas is ruled out with concussion, while Will Hoskin-Elliott and Brodie Mihocek are both under clouds.

Our AFL betting expert has assessed the odds and found some value Port Adelaide v Collingwood tips:
Power bull Ollie Wines is averaging almost 33 possessions per game in 2021 and has become a mainstay in our same-game multis. While we’re sure Ken Hinkley would rather spread the possessions out more, there is very little chance Wines won’t rack up a massive count against the Magpies, who are notorious for letting the opposition team’s best midfielder run rampant.
Collingwood is sorely lacking their star defender Darcy Moore and Georgiades could be the beneficiary in this contest with Jordan Roughead set to take Charlie Dixon. The sticky fingered forward could find himself opposed to Jack Madgen or the undersized Brayden Maynard — matchups he will be confident of taking advantage of. He is paying $3 to kick 3+ goals.
Punters should be confident in the Power’s ability to cover the -18.5 line, with the Magpies’ season now all about development. While the Magpies have enough talent in their line-up, they have a handful of players just starting out in their AFL journey, which is a recipe we think the Power might enjoy.
Port Adelaide knows the importance of winning this contest, with their top four chances hanging by a thread and cannot afford any slip-ups. The Power just have more stability at both ends of the ground, which was highlighted by the ease in which they kept the Saints at bay last outing. If the Power’s midfield can at the very least break even with the Magpies keys like Jordan De Goey and Taylor Adams, this match could get ugly. Our final Port Adelaide v Collingwood prediction? Power by 34 points.
